Biomes Guide: Every Spawn Chance, Aura & Breakthrough Explained - Sol's RNG Wiki
A complete reference to how the Sol's RNG biome system works, including standard biomes, rare biomes, the day/night cycle, event biomes, and the Breakthrough mechanic that lets exclusive auras roll outside their native biome.
Overview
The Sol's RNG biome system rolls every single second to decide which biome spawns across the map. Biome-exclusive auras can be obtained outside their native biome through the Breakthrough mechanic, where the aura's base rarity is multiplied by the current biome's Breakthrough Multiplier. Grasp the core loop in our beginner guide and the Strange Controller.
Biome Randomizer vs Strange Controller
This video compares the Strange Controller and the Biome Randomizer, the two crafted tools that let you force a biome spawn on demand. Standard biome items are required to craft them, and the upgraded Randomizer can even trigger the ultra-rare Cyberspace biome that no natural roll can reliably produce.
Understanding the precise difference between these two crafted tools is genuinely essential for efficient long-term grinding, because the upgraded Randomizer unlocks biome pools that the basic Controller simply cannot reach on its own without significant extra effort, time, or material investment.
Standard Biomes: Chances, Auras & Items
The ten standard biomes each spawn at a fixed chance per second, last for a set duration, and carry their own Breakthrough Multiplier that governs how hard exclusive auras are to roll elsewhere. Most also drop a signature biome item used to craft biome-forcing tools and to brew potent luck potions.
Use this table as your quick reference whenever a new biome appears on your map, since the active Breakthrough value directly dictates whether chasing a particular cross-biome aura is even realistically possible within the limited bounds of your current grinding session.
| Biome | Spawn | Duration | BT | Key Aura |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WINDY | 1/500/s | 2 min | 3x | Flow 1/29,000 |
| SNOWY | 1/600/s | 2 min | 3x | Permafrost 1/24,500 |
| RAINY | 1/750/s | 2 min | 4x | Poseidon 1/1,000,000 |
| SANDSTORM | 1/3,000/s | 10m50s | 4x | Jackpot 1/194 |
| HELL | 1/6,666/s | 11m6s | 6x | UNDEAD:DEVIL 1/111,111 |
| STARFALL | 1/7,500/s | 10 min | 5x | STARLIGHT 1/10,000 |
| HEAVEN | 1/7,777/s | 4 min | 5x | Divinus:Angel 1/24,000 |
| CORRUPTION | 1/9,000/s | 10m50s | 5x | Corrosive 1/2,400 |
| NULL | 1/10,100/s | 1m39s | 1000x | Empty 1/11,111,111 |
Rare Biomes
Four rare biomes exist beyond the standard set, and the first time any player discovers one they earn an achievement, a badge, and a leaderboard title. Rare biomes have no biome-exclusive item, but they offer unique auras and memorable visual effects that signal something extraordinary has just happened.
Each rare biome also follows its own completely distinct spawn rule, ranging from a slim per-second chance during a Normal Biome to a conditional replacement roll that silently hijacks another biome's natural spawn window entirely without any advance warning whatsoever.
DREAMSPACE
1 in 3,500,000 per second during a Normal Biome, lasting 3m12s. Spawns Heavenly Potions and auras like Dreammetric.
GLITCHED
1 in 30,000 per biome change (about 1 in 11.2 million per second), the rarest biome. Native auras ignore BT; corrupts GUIs and sounds.
CYBERSPACE
1 in 5,000 only via Strange Controller or Biome Randomizer, lasting 12 minutes with a 2x Breakthrough and the aura PLAYER 1/1,500.
SINGULARITY
1 in 100 to replace STARFALL when it spawns, lasting 20 minutes. Includes the gargantuan GARGANTUA aura at 1 in 430,000,000.
How Breakthrough Works
Breakthrough is the mechanic that lets you obtain a biome-exclusive aura while a completely different biome is currently active. The aura's base rarity is multiplied by the active biome's Breakthrough Multiplier, so already-rare auras become extraordinarily difficult to roll under breakthrough conditions.
A small handful of auras are explicitly exempt from this entire Breakthrough system and can never roll outside their native biome under absolutely any circumstances, no matter how extraordinarily high the active multiplier climbs during your current gameplay session overall.
Base rarity
Each biome-exclusive aura has a native 1-in-X rarity defined for its home biome.
Multiplier applies
Outside the native biome, multiply rarity by the current biome's Breakthrough value, such as 3x for Windy or 1000x for NULL.
Special cases
Some auras like Empty and GLITCH have no Breakthrough and can only roll inside their native biome.
Day, Night & Event Biomes
Beyond the standard and rare biomes, a passive day and night cycle runs every 2m30s, and a full in-game day lasts 5 minutes, running roughly 288 times faster than real time. Both halves apply a hefty Breakthrough bonus, and six seasonal event biomes also appear during special updates throughout the year.
These passive layers stack directly with whatever biome is currently active on your map, meaning the current daytime or nighttime phase can dramatically shift which exclusive auras are realistically within your reach at absolutely any given moment during your play.
- DAYTIME: BT 10x with Solar 1/5,000 and Solar:Solstice 1/500,000
- NIGHTTIME: BT 10x with Lunar 1/5,000 and Lunar:Full Moon 1/500,000
- EVENT BIOMES: six seasonal biomes tied to events like the Halloween event and Summer event
- BIOME ITEMS: standard biomes drop items used to craft the Strange Controller and Biome Randomizer
Biome Items & Crafting
Every standard biome drops a signature item, such as Wind Essence for a 2 percent luck boost, Eternal Flame for 5 percent luck and 2.5 percent roll speed, or the Piece of Star from Starfall. Collect these materials to craft biome-forcing tools and to brew powerful potions that compound your grinding efficiency.
Managing your biome item stockpile carefully is the true backbone of long-term progression, so revisit the full items guide and the Heavenly Potion breakdown before committing to any expensive, irreversible, or genuinely time-consuming end-game crafting recipe decision you might regret later.
