How to Fish in Sol's RNG - Sol's RNG Wiki
A full guide to the Sol's RNG fishing update, covering the minigame mechanics, fish rarities and mutations, biome-exclusive fish, and how to convert catches into Fish Points.
Overview
Fishing was added to Sol's RNG in Eon 1-7, introducing a full minigame with 56 fish species across Trash, Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Legendary tiers, plus the rare Sea Pearl and Abyssal Sea Pearl. Each catch's value is driven by weight, rarity, and mutations. The best catch is the Legendary Sharko.
Watch: Full Fishing Update Guide
This video covers the entire fishing update from the Waiting phase through the Reeling minigame, showing how to keep the bar in the green zone and demonstrating catches of various rarities. It is the best visual companion to the steps below for mastering the Fish Point economy and landing the heaviest Legendary fish.
The Fishing Minigame Step by Step
Fishing has two phases: a Waiting phase where you wait for a bite, and a Reeling minigame where you must keep a moving blue bar tip inside a green area to fill a white bar above a red line. Mastering the reeling timing is the core skill of the entire fishing update in Sol's RNG.
Approach any body of water to trigger the Fish UI. Once a fish bites, focus entirely on keeping the blue tip aligned with the green zone, since letting the white bar drop below the red line risks losing the catch and wasting the bait wait you already invested in.
Approach water and start
Walk up to any body of water to trigger the Fish UI. Interact to begin the Waiting phase, during which your bait sits until a fish bites.
Wait for the bite
Stay patient during the Waiting phase. The bite timing varies, so do not reel early; wait for the clear visual cue that a fish has taken the bait before reacting.
Reel with the minigame
During the Reeling phase, keep the blue bar tip inside the green area. Staying in the green fills the white bar; letting it fall below the red line risks losing the fish.
Land and sell the catch
Once the white bar is full, the fish is caught. Sell it to Captain Flarg for Fish Points based on its weight, rarity, and any mutations applied.
Fish Rarity Multipliers
Every fish has a rarity tier that multiplies its base value. Higher tiers are rarer but pay out significantly more Fish Points per catch, making them the priority targets during focused fishing sessions across the many biomes in Sol's RNG.
The table below lists each tier and its multiplier. Legendary fish like the Sharko are the most valuable, while Trash fish are worth the least and are mostly an incidental bycatch of bulk fishing that still earns a small trickle of points.
| Rarity | Value Multiplier | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Trash | Lowest | Common bycatch, minimal value |
| Common | 1x | Baseline rarity and value |
| Uncommon | 1.5x | Moderate value bump |
| Rare | 2x | Strong value target |
| Legendary | 2.5x | Best value, includes Sharko |
| Sea Pearl / Abyssal Sea Pearl | Special | Rare special-tier catches |
Mutations and Biome Fish
Mutations and biome exclusives add depth to fishing. Mutations multiply a fish's value and are tied to the active biome, while certain fish only appear during specific biome conditions, pushing you to fish across multiple biomes to complete your collection of all fifty-six species.
The WINDY biome applies the Ruffled mutation at 1.5x and hosts Flying Fish, Wahoo, Sailfish, and Striped Marlin. The SNOWY biome applies the Crusted mutation at 1.5x and hosts Coelacanth, Bluefin Tuna, and Antarctic Icefish as its exclusive biome-specific catches during their active windows.
WINDY: Ruffled (x1.5)
During the WINDY biome, fish can carry the Ruffled mutation worth a 1.5x multiplier. Exclusive species include Flying Fish, Wahoo, Sailfish, and Striped Marlin.
SNOWY: Crusted (x1.5)
During the SNOWY biome, fish can carry the Crusted mutation worth a 1.5x multiplier. Exclusive species include Coelacanth, Bluefin Tuna, and Antarctic Icefish.
Sharko (Legendary)
The Sharko is the best fish in the game, a Legendary-tier catch that is also the heaviest, combining the 2.5x rarity multiplier with top-tier weight for the highest possible value.
Sea Pearls
Sea Pearl and Abyssal Sea Pearl are special-tier catches outside the normal rarity ladder. They are rare and valuable rewards for dedicated fishing sessions.
Spending Fish Points
Fish Points, earned by selling catches to Captain Flarg, are spent at the Fishing Shop on two core potions: the Lucky Potion and the Speed Potion, each costing 25 Fish Points. Both directly accelerate your rolling, making fishing a strong indirect income source in Sol's RNG overall economy.
Keep a steady rotation of fishing sessions to maintain a potion buffer, especially when pushing for rare auras from the aura rarity tiers. The Speed Potion in particular compounds with auto-roll for long overnight sessions in Sol's RNG.
Fishing Tips and Targets
These tips help you fish more efficiently and target the most valuable catches. The biggest jumps in Fish Point income come from biome timing and prioritizing Legendary bites over sheer volume of low-value bycatch during your daily fishing sessions across Sol's RNG.
Combine these tips with the right gear from the progression guide to turn fishing into a reliable engine for potions and steady progression that consistently sustains your rolling over the long term endgame journey in Sol's RNG.
- Always finish the reel on Legendary bites, since they are worth the most Fish Points.
- Fish during WINDY and SNOWY biomes to access the 1.5x Ruffled and Crusted mutations.
- Target the Sharko, the heaviest and most valuable Legendary fish in the game.
- Collect all 56 species, including the special Sea Pearl and Abyssal Sea Pearl.
- Buy Lucky and Speed Potions at the Fishing Shop for 25 Fish Points each.
- Sell every catch to Captain Flarg; even Trash fish contribute small Fish Point amounts.
